Blitzen is a large standard jennet who stands at 49 inches. Blitzen was born feral and captured by the Bureau of Land Management a few years ago. Her original owner sold her for slaughter, but Longhopes intervened and she was saved. When she first came to Longhopes she was in foal. She later had a healthy jack foal who has long since been adopted to a new home.
Blitzen has lost at least 2 homes through no fault of her own. It is time for her to find a permanent placement. She has earned it.
Blitzen has a light gray coat. She weighs about 600 pounds and most of it is definitely muscle.
Blitzen gets along will with jennets and geldings alike but her favorite donkeys at Longhopes are Rosie and Gretchen.
Blitzen has begun riding lessons and she shows great potential. She is not a riding donkey for children because she has some spirit to move.
Blitzen is very vigilant to intruders and is maternal to small animals and babies.
