Rosie is a grey, feral donkey who was removed from federal lands near Blythe, California when she was 4 years old. Rosie was sold to a private owner by the Bureau of Land Management in 2000 and remained there until 2008 when her elderly owners became ill.
Rosie prefers the company of jennets or calm gelding donkeys. Her burro buddies at Longhopes are Blitzen and Gretchen.
Rosie stands about 46 inches tall. She arrived overweight but has been losing weight and now is at about 432 pounds.
She used to be very shy but she is getting more affectionate as she ages. She is a very easy keeper.
This donkey would make a great property guard. She likes to chase cats, dogs and small varments.
